Gentlemen, you're in college. That means that you're now considered a young man like me. With being in college, it's a whole different game than high school. Obvious reasons aside, it's a different game because you're meeting 20,000 people that you'll probably never see again. The big thing you would want to do is leave a great first impression on everyone that you meet.
I became obsessed with men's fashion a few months ago and it's been a big part of my life even since. After following people like Aaron Marino and "Real Men Real Style", I was able to slowly integrate myself into the wonderful world of men's fashion. However, the real question is, what lies within men's fashion that stands out from other fashions? Honestly, fashion could be anything. You could be in sweats for the day, but that's still a fashionable look because it shows that you're a laid back and relaxed person.
A whole outfit tells a story of what that person is like. Most people in college are laid back people because they rock sweats 5 days out of the week. It's still fashion. I even have a buddy that wears suits every day. But, he actually knows better men's fashion than I do. He'll know the perfect pocket square and tie combos as well as shoe and belt combos. His style shows that he knows fashion well. He's a true gentleman. How do I know this? Because the outfits he picks every day shows that he has a true sense of class. Probably one of the classiest men I've ever known.
My style fluctuates more with the seasons. My style involves a lot of leather in the fall, winter, and spring to show that I'm a tough guy that won't back down for anything. If you look closely at my wrists, fingers, and neck, I own a lot of gold and silver. Gold and silver is the pinnacle of attraction in my opinion because everybody absolutely loves gold and silver watches, wristbands, rings, and chains. People always gets this wrong. Gold and silver don't necessarily show wealth, but it does show your flashy personality.
What about in the summer when there isn't any jacket to be worn? Well, that's where my "American Fighter" apparel comes in. To show that tough shell, "American Fighter" is worn by some of the toughest brutes in America and the UK. It shows the dominance and assertiveness.
"Affliction" is another favorite, but those are more for class because I only own two of those. I seem to talk too much about shirts. As far as pants go, I recently became a huge supporter of skinny jeans and slim straight jeans for the obvious reason that they make you look better. I can definitely trust American Eagle jeans for that, and I know that mixing the brands is a big no in the fashion industry, but I don't care. In the summer, it's always shorts. I say I care less about fashion in the summer because summer attire could be anything involving a shirt and shorts.
Hairstyles for men is a very touchy subject as well because there are so many styles that go well with the seasons and the styles that come with it. For me, I mentioned this before, but I was rocking the undercut for two years. Needless to say, I'm over it at this point. I'm trying to do something else. I might just let it grow out and get really long again like it was in High School. I haven't quite decided.
What am I trying to tell you? Well, gentlemen, any style you wear in college could be something that tells any stranger about you. If you're a relaxed person, show it. If you're sophisticated and classy, show that. Anything goes in college gentlemen, just keep being yourself and people will appreciate you either way.
