If there’s anything I learned from a childhood of learning from the Bible, it’s that personal change is important. I also learned that self-improvement is a gradual and continual process. That’s why I’m somewhat on the fence with the term “New Year’s Resolution”. Having “NEW YEARS” blast out makes us believe that we should make changes simply because it is a new year and that once January is over, we could stop suffering. But then again, New Years is a great time to actually force ourselves to start making changes, no matter how trivial. The following is what I’m determined to do. Throughout the year, I'm sure I'll make many more:
- No matter how stressed I get, don’t let it get to me.
- Text my friends more.
- Try to stop binge working; even out all studying and homework.
- Eat more fruits.
- Don’t get be disappointed when my mood swings come again. It’s not my fault that my brain makes me feel like shit.
- Be more understanding and have patience with Mom and Dad.
- Confidence!
- Be more emotionally available in my close relationships. Even if I feel uncomfortable, just open up.
- Run. Jog. Anything un-rocklike.
- Try to fix my eczema.
- Drink more water daily.
- “Try” to quit coffee (which I won’t. Sorry Honey, I don't think I can)
- Be genuinely happy more often
