Why I Love the Christmas Season!

Now that it is Christmas time I have an excuse to play my holiday playlist that includes Pentatonix, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, and Taylor Swift. (Yes I am a pop Christmas kind of girl. I can now bake my Christmas cookies with cream cheese frosting (See recipe at the bottom!) and decorate the Christmas tree.

I can attempt to learn how to make Christmas Crack (A dessert with chocolate, caramel, and crackers) and decorate the fireplace. I can wrap and give my Christmas presents I have been saving all year long for family and friends.

One thing I love about Christmas time is getting to watch the Christmas specials. "Prep and Landing" is my favorite Disney short, and watch A Charlie Brown Christmas. I love Christmas not for the presentions and hot chocolate but for the time I get to spend with my family. My family makes the holidays special and also can make a gloomy day feel like a magical day.

Sugar Cookies Recipe

2 sticks of unsalted butter

1 cup of white sugar

2 teaspoon of vanilla extract

1 egg

1/2 teaspoon of baking soda

1/2 teaspoon of salt

2 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour

Directions

In a mixer cream the butter and salt until smooth. Gradually add the egg, sugar and vanilla extract until mixed thoroughly. Next, add the baking soda and flour one cup at a time. If the mix is sticky add a little flour.

Scoop the dough into the tablespoon and place on a cookie sheet. Bake 7-10 minutes!

Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe

1 (8 ounces) package of cream cheese

1 stick of salted butter

2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

3 cups powdered sugar

Using a mixer beat together the cream cheese and butter. One cup at a time add the powder sugar and vanilla extract. The longer you whip, the lighter the frosting is!

Friendship. It's defined as the state of being attached to another person by feelings of affection or personal regard, but what really is friendship? Is it that occasional hallway talk with that one person who always manages to cheer you up? Is it that relationship you have with someone where they can be gone for a long period of time, but when they come back, it's like they never left? Is it spending every waking hour with someone, and knowing every detail about their life? Is it the relationship that's filled with fighting, but filled with even more resolution? I've learned that it's all of these things, and every friendship is different. It's a beautifully dysfunctional mess that should always be cherished and never be taken for granted.
