Life is nothing but a grand adventure. I mean, we only get one life to live and the funny part is, we don't know when it could all end. Life gives so many precious things, people, places, and personalities to express; it is impossible to not make everything count. Yes, some days we may cry or wish the days would end faster so we can crawl back to bed and figure out what we're doing with our lives. We make mistakes, fail at goals, fall in the hands of the wrong people, and also get various obstacles put into our lives spontaneously. Without any obstacles and mistakes we come across, what would life even be like? Obviously, you're thinking sunshine and rainbows, but I'm thinking life would be silly. We NEED to make mistakes, we NEED to learn our lessons from the good and bad people that get put into our lives and we NEED to make everything count. We aren't all going to be billionaires and we're not all going to get the entire world to like us, but do we let these sad but true facts get us down? We do and it sucks. We need to find ways to make our own lives worth living; we need to find happiness, joy, laughter, and knowledge each and every day. Some days we may splurge on an expensive meal or even continuously care about the wrong people, but that doesn't mean it is our fault for going for the things we want and need in life. We are put in this world to go after this extravagant meals or unrequited love because we need these experiences in life to make everything count for ourselves and for others. We need to do things in and out of our comfort zone; we need to radiate nothing but positivity and love with others with change. What if we don't? Does that make us a bad person? Not necessarily. Our emotions are initial responses to the experiences and, to be frank, happiness is not always going to be our go-to emotion. We need to learn how to express our emotions properly with ourselves and others, this way, we can prepare for the next big thing in our life. We need to continue to cherish what we have while also getting the chance to adventure off and go see or try things we have never done before. Life is too extraordinary to do the same boring thing every day; change should always be a good thing. If it is not good, then we must reevaluate things to make them good. We may see change as a scary thing, but change is not going to be scary unless you've made it to the finish line and we're still trying to catch our breath. We need to be able to experience change so we can form different relationships with diverse groups of people to be able to love, care, and empathize with different people. We will soon realize what life has to offer at the right time, place, and with the ones who truly love and care for us. If we sit around and just keep doing and thinking the same way, are we really experiencing life and the variety of things, people, and places it has to offer?

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
