With restaurants all over the country closed to in-person dining, more people than ever are ordering food to be delivered. When you decide to order delivery, just keep these things in mind.
1. Pay attention to your phone.
You can keep tabs on order updates & you will be able to answer your phone if your driver needs to contact you for any reason, such as to let you know that we have left your order at your front door.
2. Give specific information regarding your location.
If you live in an apartment or condo, or you're in an office building, let us know exactly where we need to go to find you as quickly and easily as possible.
3. Select a no contact delivery if it's not done automatically.
No contact deliveries are pretty much the standard right now, even if it is not specifically requested by the customer.
4. Please don't wait outside to meet your driver.
It is a scary time right now with COVID-19, and many of us delivery drivers live with others who we would not want to pass this virus to or have underlying conditions ourselves.
5. Don't fault your driver for restaurant delays.
Restaurants are running on less staff and are being bombarded with orders, especially at peak times. We will do our best to get your order to you as quickly as possible, however, if the restaurant is backed up, there is nothing your driver can do to make it be ready sooner.
6. Don't forget to tip your driver.
While delivery drivers do get paid delivery fees, at least on platforms like DoorDash, it does not mean you should skip out on giving a tip, ideally 18-20% of your order. Also, try to tip on your card instead of giving cash whenever possible.
7. Please give a good review, or at least not leave a bad one.
Unless your driver us rude or doesn't communicate when a problem or delay arises, please do not give negative reviews. Depending on what platform the driver delivers with, too many negative reviews can get them kicked off the said platform, thus eliminating their income.
8. Do not try to scam to get your money back.
Alleging that your delivery driver did not deliver your order when they actually did is a rather serious accusation. Such an accusation can result in the driver losing their job.
