As our common experience, we all go to public events or community gatherings. Events like such are a great way to expose yourself to different type of people that you tend to interact with daily. Till this day, people still have issues with socializing and having the desire to attend events. Now, the questions arise which is; why is it difficult to communicate in an effective way, and what are the factors that contribute with this issue?

There are so many factors that hinder us from having an effective and positive communication with others. Imagine the situation, you want to clear all doubts from the previous lecture. There are two professors in college who teach the same subject. You know that one professor is always in an angry mood while the other professor is empathetic and kinder to their students. Your objective is to talk these two professors. Which professor will be easier for you to question? Of course, it will be easier for you to talk with nice professor. if you speak with the angry professor, you will be mostly worried about your grades that will cause you to think a lot before asking for clarification. You are also worried about other consequences before speaking with that professor such as him getting mad or doubting your intelligence. These thoughts make it even harder to communicate.

Show empathy – Empathy is one of the many factors that contribute with having good communication skills. the way you are can affect the way others view you and how they fell towards you. "Empathy is having the capacity to understand or feel what another person is expecting from within the other beings frame of reference, i.e. the capacity to place oneself in another position.” This definition explains and shows three important aspects i) Active listening ii) understanding someone's state of mind and iii) responding appropriately to their emotional state i.e. mirroring their emotion.

Show affection towards others – if we follow all of the mentioned parts of empathy and other factors that will make us easier to talk with others. However, to create emotional connections with people, you need more than just the method mentioned above. Because you don’t know about that person. Showing genuine affection and interest towards him/her makes us more compatible to his/ her emotions. You become more compassionate if he/she is going through a hard time. A final question comes to our mind; how do you achieve affection towards others that you don't know personally? You can be affectionate towards anyone, but it takes work on your own heart and mind. Affection is achievable only by participation in God's love, loving yourself, loving others and staying away from any greedy desires.

In conclusion, empathy and affection are an important factors that make connecting others easier.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
