I went from dollar store blue eyeshadow to working as hard on my makeup as Kim Kardashian

Makeup is definitely one of my healthier obsessions.

I went from dollar store blue eyeshadow to working as hard on my makeup as Kim Kardashian

Last summer, my family and I took a trip to Ireland after my graduation, but there were a few things I was worried about: flying, whether or not we would make our connecting flight, and checking my bag, given that ALL of my makeup was in it.

My mom says that I have many obsessions, but makeup tops them all—even over Niall Horan.

I originally got into makeup from watching my sister do hers and seeing how beautiful the results were. I've finally gotten to that point where I feel that my makeup looks just as good as hers, but trust me, I had my fair share of middle school looks, from full on blue eye shadow to glitter lipstick.

I've learned it takes a long time to figure out what products work best for you and what brands are the best for non-animal cruelty, and you have to sit through so many Youtube tutorials.

I still look at tutorials by Tati, a Youtuber who is essentially a "professional" makeup artist. She reviews products in every price range, shows you different looks with a specific pallet, and has even come out with her own line of vitamins for hair, skin, and nails.

When I go to buy makeup, I tend to look at two specific brands: Makeup Revolution and e.l.f.

Makeup Revolution easily has the best pigmented eyeshadows at a price anywhere from $7 to $30, and they're worth every penny. I recently purchased the Makeup Revolution Reloaded pallet in color Division. After I bought it, I swatched it on my arm in the car and literally had a revelation: this was the best pallet I had ever bought. All for $7.

Then there's e.l.f., the only brand that I trust is 100% clean, safe, and cruelty free. I am not a huge fan of foundation because I don't like the "cakey" look; however, this brand has completely changed my mind. I bought the e.l.f. Beautifully Bare Foundation Serum with SPF 25, for only $8, and it blends beautifully into my skin without having that "cakey" effect.

There are many other brands that I like to use and many different products that I'm willing to splurge on or that I'll settle for buying at TJ Maxx, but nothing really beats Makeup Revolution or e.l.f.

It's obvious that I'm fairly addicted to makeup, and I'm getting pretty good at doing it, so when I travel to France next January, I'll definitely need to meditate after I check my bag filled with all of my favorite makeup.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

Because we made it, and because high school seniors deserve to know what they're getting themselves into

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!
