3 High-End Beauty Dupes That Won't Hurt Your Wallet

In This Article:

Being a girl is expensive, let me tell you. Especially if you're into all the "girly" stuff such as getting your hair done, buying new makeup, getting that spray tan, nails painted, new shoes, new clothes, and the list goes on. It is hard to balance it all when you don't have an endless amount of money to spend because who does anyways? I have always tried to buy the best makeup possible that is in my budget because I want to somewhat care about what ingredients I put all over my face. However, sometimes that $30 I could save by going with the drugstore makeup rather than Sephora makes the bad ingredients seem less... bad.

I have used all of these products, the high-end and drugstore and finally have put together a list of my top dupes! The same type of product that delivers the same results, but a prettier price tag.

1. Setting Powder Dupe.

Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder

Instead of using Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder that costs $38 at your local Sephora store (my holy grail), try this Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder... You will not be disappointed. It sets my makeup exactly the same! The main difference would be the smell. Coty tends to have more of a baby powder smell, but what's so bad about that? Click on the picture to shop at Walmart for only $8!

2. Mascara Dupe.

L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Lash Mascara

Instead of using Better Than Sex mascara by Too Faced which is totally worth the money... but, want to save a few bucks as I do, try L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Lash. I actually stopped purchasing the Too Faced mascara for this one. It's less half the price, $24 vs $7.49 and works exactly the same. It even comes in the same packaging with the same brush too! So worth it, I swear. Click on the picture to shop it at Target!

3. Dry Shampoo Dupe.

Batiste Dry Shampoo

Instead of using Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo, trade it in for the Batiste Dry Shampoo. I am a firm believer in dry shampoo and I literally could not live without it. But, I don't want to spray this sticky powder into my hair... but also don't want to spend $23, Batiste only comes out to a whopping $6 at Walmart! I use this dry shampoo multiple times a week. I swear I do take a shower, cmon. But, this dry shampoo doesn't build up on my scalp, only takes a few sprays to get rid of any oils, and is totally a dupe for Living Proof. Click on the picture to shop at Walmart!

There are some things you really love that just don't have a price tag, but if you're willing to trade in a few money hungry items for these more affordable products, your wallet will thank you! I use these dupes myself. I wouldn't vouch for any product that I didn't truly love as well.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
