Once the summer hits it’s a given that we worry even, worry about being in our best shape for the beach, worrying about training for pre-season, trying to find a job, or searching take an online class.

The fact of the matter is this is our release from all the stress that comes with being at school year round we need to give ourselves a break.

It’s inevitable to want to take time for yourself when your home for the first week or even two weeks, let yourself have that to catch up on sleep and to just do your own thing.

Don’t spend so much time focused on the goal for that perfect going away body in a month to come, enjoy food you missed out on being away and the places open in season. Don’t spend too much time concentrated on materialistic things because I am telling you no matter where you are from the summer has so many activities in store that you don’t need a ton of money for.

Look for an outdoor film, have a bonfire with your friends, stay up late watching movies and wake up early to see the sunrise. Go for bike rides, take a hike, try new foods, run a 5k!

Make sure to catch up with old friends, just one interaction can bring back a whirlwind of memories.

Find so many cheap concert tickets to tailgate for and live so adventurously through.

Of course remember what is to come in the fall but have fun with this freedom you are given where rules are limited and time seems endless.

Use this time to hang out with your family, you will always find a reason to say you are “too busy” to just go for a walk or sit with them or even plan a city trip, but the summer is so long and quality family time is everything.

Go on a random road trip whether it’s with a set plan or just to go camping for the day.

Do not get so inside your head that you forget this is your life and your summer, you should not be so stressed out even if there are a bunch of things you do want to get done.

Go night swimming, make s’mores, have all of your friends over for a bbq. Get in that sick shape you have been wanting to get in, let people see you in September and be mind-blown, change up your hair, focus on yourself mentally too.

Let this summer be not only where you enjoy every moment but you let go of toxic relationships and anything holding you back from moving forward in a more positive light.

This is your summer, you can go about it whichever way you want, but make sure you don’t let worrying about the future get to you so much.

So yes, use this time to grow and improve but make sure you are enjoying yourself.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
