Whether you like it or not, summer is approaching us here in Colorado very quickly and we all want to make the best of the nice weather and great events that Colorado has to offer throughout the summer season. I thought I'd make available a list of things you absolutely must do for a once in a lifetime summer without even leaving the state!

1. Global Dance Festival Colorado

I had the pleasure of going to the "pre-event" for the 2017 Global Dance Festival called Global Dub Festival and that was a night for the books if you enjoy music, people, Sports Authority Field or dancing, this one will definitely kick off your summer on a good note with a day filled with energy and an incredible show put on by all the artists.

You can get more info here: https://globaldancefestival.com/

2. Greeley Stampede

If music isn't your thing, I recommend you check out the Greeley Stampede and all of its glory. You can check out the fair, the bull riding, and many more family friendly events that are sure to take you back to your childhood and the county fairs that we all loved so dearly.

You can get more info here: http://www.greeleystampede.org/

3. Hot Air Balloon festival

Although it may not be as grand as the international Hot Air Balloon Festival, this one is still a sight to see with your family and friends.

You can get more info here: http://www.steamboatchamber.com/info/events/sbccca...

4. Vans Warped Tour

Last, but definitely not least and also my personal favorite of the summer, Vans Warped Tour. For all music enthusiasts, there is something for everyone. The lineup features a wide spread of music from Metal to Post Hardcore. With all of the causes that have booths at the festival, you are sure to find something to support like A Voice For The Innocent which supports victims of sexual assault and rape.

You can find more info here: http://vanswarpedtour.com/

If you still can't find something to do then start something and let's make this summer count!

We don't buy into these... just like how we don't buy our friends.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
