Saturday Night Lives Coverage of the Election

I have said it before, and I will say it again: this election is disgraceful. I cannot stand to watch two fully grown candidates fight like children. I have tried to reconcile myself with the idea that one of them may be elected president in a month, but despite all of my efforts, I simply cannot fathom it, and I have become extremely disheartened at what American politics has become.

On the other hand, I am also ironically grateful that the election had become the mess that it is. There is one bright spot that appears in every election season that I look forward to seeing every four years. Saturday Night Live has produced some of the most memorable moments from the elections. This years season is no different, and hear are some of the best parts so far.

1.) Alec Baldwin is officially the best Donald Trump impersonator I have ever seen. He has all of the mannerisms down to the tee, and he showcases Trump's erratic and brazen behavior hilariously. Easily the best impersonation of a candidate that I have seen on Saturday Night Live.

2.) I love when Larry David comes back to Saturday Night Live to portray Bernie Sanders. He is almost a doppelganger of the Vermont senator, and I lose it every time he appears on the show. Honestly hilarious.

3.) Kate McKinnon plays an accurate portrayal of Hillary Clinton. She shows her obvious flaws, sprinkles in an occasional dose of smugness, and comes off as hilarious in every portrayal. McKinnon's Clinton tries to keep her cool as Trump and his campaign spin out of control, and its easily one of the funniest things I have seen on the show in a long time.

4.) The most hilarious part, and perhaps also the scariest, about the Saturday Night Live portrayals, is how shockingly accurate they are. After Sunday's presidential debate, it was hard to tell if it was Donald Trump or Alec Baldwin on stage. McKinnon's portrayal of Clinton shows how Clinton tries to keep her cool in the insanity that has become the election, and all in all, it is hilarious that and also extremely unnerving how accurate the show has been in this election season.

Do yourself a favor, even if you are like me and trying to avoid paying attention to the election: watch the Saturday Night Live episodes about the election. If our political process is going to crash and burn, then we might as well laugh at it as it does. Besides, who doesn't enjoy a good laugh?

Sorority

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
