There is no denying that college can be a very stressful and dramatic stage in life. It is beyond easy to get caught up in all that is going on around you: exams, homework, relationship drama, zero sleep, and unending waves of assignments that you don't remember until an hour before they are due. Of course the gallons of caffeine that are consumed along the way doesn't really help either...
But as you're beginning this new school year, whether it's your Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year, remember to keep perspective on the things that you encounter. Some of the stuff that you encounter in college is very vital and will affect the rest of your life, but some of it really is not.
So, before you let yourself get caught up in the stress of every little thing (which is ABSOLUTELY easy to do, believe me...I know) take into account some perspective on the matter at hand. Yes, I just bombed this quiz, but before freaking out take a breathe and remember that it's only 2% of my grade. Instead of freaking out and losing all focus, I should accept what happened and let it motivate me to study and to do well on the rest of assignments.
Don't get caught up on every little thing in college because there will be a lot of little things to get caught up on.
Maintain your perspective and keep your ultimate goal in mind. Whether that's getting a good grade in the class, or even just graduating period. You'll have many little bumps along the way and I know that when you're in the moment that little bump feels like a mountain, but don't let it throw you.
More often then not, in the grand scheme of things, most of the problems you'll face will be small, little bumps. If you keep your main end goal in mind, with a little hard work, it really won't be that hard to get back on course. So remember to take a breath....you can do this.
