Everyone loves concerts. I know I do. I've seen Mike Posner, MGK, Wiz Khalifa, Chiddy Bang, Big Sean, and Ke$ha in concert. While seeing these big names sing some of my favorite songs are experiences I will always cherish and be grateful for; the concert experience itself was stressful.
Concerts at large venues, like the Lifestyle Community Pavilion in Columbus for example, are a lot of fun. Larger venues mean there is a larger capacity. A larger capacity means more people. More people means longer lines, more expensive drinks, and a lesser likelihood that you're going to get your hand touched by whatever performer you spent all the money in your bank account to see. And are you really seeing them, or are you seeing them on the jumbotron or mega screen?
Mainstage Morgantown is located conveniently in the downtown area. I've been to a few concerts at Mainstage, and those are the concerts that I regard as my favorite. You won't find yourself with nosebleed seats at Mainstage, mostly because there are no seats. Which is great, because everyone who bought a ticket knows, well hopefully, the performer, their music, and will vibe out with you.
At Mainstage, the performer can actually be seen from any part of the main room. It might take a minute for you to locate your friend, but it's not like it is at a music festival where if you separate it could be hours before you see each other again.
There is usually a drink special for each concert. For Cherub, the drink specials were mimosas (yaaaas.) There are two bars at which you can get drinks, and they are actually reasonably priced. Overall, the atmosphere at Mainstage is great. The lighting crew knows what they are doing which enhances the concert as every concert goer would agree.
But, the best part of concerts at Mainstage is that they feel personal. You aren't elbow to elbow with the person next to you and you don't have to push through a crowd of a thousand people to get a glimpse of the performer. At Mainstage, it's possible to leave your spot and make your way back. Also, it's not impossible to get to the front.
Who knows, maybe the performer will even come into the crowd like Jordan Kelley did or down a can of beer like Jason Huber. That being said, the Cherub concert was amazing. I got to meet the duo, Jason Huber and Jordan Kelley. They were amazing live and finished off their performance with their most popular song "Doses and Mimosas." Concerts at Mainstage are bound to be some of my most memorable.
