In addition to the 4,000+ seats in the stalls and the balcony of the Fox Theatre, fans packed inside the lowered orchestra pit to dance as close as possible to Maggie Rogers, the Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter who has taken 2019 by storm after her single, "Alaska," went viral three years earlier. She's spent almost ten months performing all over the world, hitting some places twice (like Atlanta) - all while releasing her debut album with Capitol Records: Heard it in a Past Life. Through touring, Maggie has been able to show a side of herself to the world that's best experienced through a live performance.

The silvery white cape + jumpsuit hybrid that Maggie wore each night was no coincidence. Maggie, along with two other artists, designed the ethereal costume with specific intention. "I wanted this tour to represent and pay homage to all the costumes i've worn onstage during this 3 year personal evolution," she said via Instagram.

The costume worked in tandem with the drapery at the front of the stage, which silhouetted Maggie for the first song before it softly fell to the ground. Opening with "Color Song" set the tone for the rest of the performance, harmoniously combining natural sounds like bird and cricket chirps with elements of vocals and instruments. As the curtain fell, Maggie gracefully made her way from the back of the stage to the front before shifting the energy of the room from tranquil to energetic with the second song, "Fallingwater." These energy shifts continued to happen throughout the night, making sure all 4,000 people had the opportunity to feel each song personally.

The orchestra pit at the Fox Theatre shook every time Maggie got close to the edge of the stage. Every fan inside was dancing and passionately singing every lyric together. Maggie loves to dance so much that even during the slow songs, she was still moving from left to right of the stage, touching as many hands as she could. Without interacting with the crowd as much as she did, the combination of lighting and costume could have made the performance seem too magical - but Maggie made sure that this magic was a reality for Atlanta listeners.

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate.
