Remembering Mac Miller A Year After His Death

Mac Miller's energy that was brought into the rap game was one of a kind: self care, free spirit, and loving. My first Mac Miller song was, Donald Trump. From the instrumental to the hook that ironically came to reality, the song always put me in a good mood even on my bad days. The way he would dress and always wear any beanie that he could find was the main reason I started wearing one in the first place. His song Kool Aid and Frozen Pizza inspired my sister to use that same exact title as her old twitter username. That's how much he really meant to his fans and I. You will never hear any beef that he had with any rapper. Maybe relationship problems, but that's the human in us.

His last album before his unexpected death, Swimming really made me appreciate his music and be thankful that I was in his presence before he passed. With some of songs that were on the album, I could really tell he was looking for some help and need someone badly before it was too late. Unfortunately, it was too late. I was never emotional when an artist that I liked passed, even with Michael Jackson. When Mac passed, I felt like music wasn't the same any more for about a week or two. What he brought to the game was something hip-hop needed. He never cried about how people hated his music because he knows who it was actually for and not just mainstream. His personality and how his music saved peoples lives were truly one of a kind.

It's sad that Mac is not with us anymore because personally he helped me through some stuff . Everyday I tweet about how much I miss Mac and so do everyone else. Thank you Mac for shining your music and personality so bright in the game and being yourself. You will be deeply missed.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
