There's nothing quite like finding the perfect new beauty product. Whether it be switching your shampoo or finding a new face wash, it's always exciting to find something on the shelves that really works with your daily regime. I was never one for pampering myself, or hoarding perfumes and a variety of face creams for different seasons. But, then I fell in love with the smell of a store on Walnut Street. Anyone who has been in a Lush store knows that distinct fresh aroma of all their products slowly melting into one. From then on, I was hooked.
They have anything from skincare to shower products, and even make-up. And none of their products are tested on animals. What I love most about Lush is the quality and natural base of their products. Nothing that they sell smells like chemically modified fruit, like many brand-name shampoos and face washes do. Everything has some hint of tea-tree oil, honey, or some other natural scent a-like. And the best part is that the employees of Lush are trained to steer you in the right directions depending on exactly what you're looking for. For any Lush newbies, here are 6 Lush products that you didn't know you needed in your life.
1. The "Love Lettuce" Face Mask
Let's start with something that everyone can appreciate. Giving yourself a little skin-therapy and relaxation time. Although LUSH has a variety of face masks, this one is my favorite. It's light, but has a little grit to help exfoliation. And the smell is phenomenal. This is a good face mask for entry-level users who aren't exactly sure where to start. It gives your skin a good shine and leaves your face feeling fresh and nicely scented.

2. The "Dark Angels" Face and Body Cleanser
This face wash saved my skin in the summer time. Although it's charcoal base may seem a bit harsh, it's a life saver for oily summer skin. Although it's expensive (and sold by weight), you can make it last because only need a small portion for each wash. There isn't much of a scent to this face wash, but the results are noticeable. The only issue is that letting moisture into the container can ruin the product over time. It pays off to be cautious about tightly sealing the container if you leave it in the shower.

3. The "T For Toes" Foot Powder
Now this is a product that I never knew I needed. It's almost silly, but it's amazing to have for travel or even for the gym. It's a simple tea-tree powder that you sprinkle in your shoes to soak up any bad odors. It's a life-saver and again, something I never knew I needed until I tried it. Whether you're working out, or working a long restaurant shift, this powder can come in handy. It's simple and long lasting. Lush also suggest that you can put it directly on to your feet if you're not wearing socks with your footwear, making it versatile and useful for any kind of footwear. T For Toes is always handy to have in your travel bag, or in your gym locker.

4. The "T'eo" Deodorant Bar
For the many people who are looking to switch from anti-persperant deodorants, look no further! This deodorant has a great natural scent, and actually masks the smell of sweat fairly well. I'd say this is a good deodorant for winter, when excessive perspiration is less of a concern. The application can be a bit hard, considering it it a condensed bar of powder. You just rub off a bit of the bar and apply using your fingers. It may be awkward at first but you start to get the hang of it.

5. The "No Drought" Dry Shampoo
This product is an amazing traveling partner, and works wonders on greasy hair. Although baby powder can sometimes do the trick, this dry shampoo smells much better and is nearly disappears after application. No Drought is a great deal because the powder can last you forever, so long as you learn how to apply it correctly. My favorite thing about this product is the smell. It gives your hair a fresh scent and fixes up any greasy spots you may have.

6. The "Curly Wurly" Shampoo
Finding shampoos that properly tame curly hair is not easy. But Curly Wurly has changed the way my curls feel. This base of this shampoo is light and refreshing, as to not weigh down your curls or leave your scalp over moisturized and greasy. Again, I come back to the amazing smell of this product. It leaves your hair with a fresh and natural coconut scent. Plus, it's a beautiful pink color and one container tends to last me almost two months. This product is well worth the splurge for anyone who feel like their shampoo just isn't giving their curls enough bounce.

There are dozens more Lush products that I could gush about, but it's all about finding the ones that work best for you. Luckily, Lush employees want you to leave happy and they are there to suggest specific products that will work best with your skin or your hair. Not to mention the fact that they will send you home with a sample of ANY product that you'd like to try. Even better, if you buy something and it just doesn't work for you, you can return or exchange it with no hassle. Their commitment to customer satisfaction is what keeps so many people loyal to Lush.
Although some of their products can be on the pricey side, a lot of their simple items are affordable, long lasting, and vastly more unique than store-brand products. Not only does Lush have unique products, but they really show results. And if nothing else, they make you smell like a walking bouquet of roses.
