The cruelty-free UK-based brand, Lush, announced on Twitter that for the next two weeks they're bringing the issue of discrimination against transgender individuals into the spotlight of their North American stores.

They have stripped their storefront windows of their usual displays and replaced them with the products from their "Trans Rights Are Human Rights" collection along with quotes from their transgender and non-binary employees relating to their identities and community pride.

Within this collection, Lush offers two products: a bath melt and a Charity Pot.

"Inner Truth" is a pink and blue heart shaped bath melt in which the product's colors were inspired by the transgender flag.

The Charity Pot body lotion has been a staple product of the brand as the proceeds always go "to small grassroots organizations."

100% of the sales from these two products go directly to organizations who are fighting for transgender rights such as the National Center for Transgender Equality. In addition to these two body products, Lush offers small booklets to their in-store customers which detail "how to be a trans ally."

From the collection's name, Lush has been spreading the hashtag, #TransRightsAreHumanRights, throughout their numerous social media pages. They've been focusing on sharing the personal stories of their transgender and non-binary employees on social media as well as offering statistics on their website relating to the various daily struggles that these individuals face.

If there isn't a Lush near you and you still want to help the cause, you can order these products online and learn more about the movement here!

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.

If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
