8 Thoughts LSU Fans Have During Alabama Hate Week
Renegade's BS

It's that time of year again. As the month of November begins, LSU currently sits undefeated and at the top of the SEC. They are in a great position to win the conference and make the College Football playoff. However, this LSU football team has plenty of obstacles to clear before it can get back to Atlanta for the first time since 2011. The main obstacle standing in LSU's way is, of course, Alabama, and LSU fans would not want it any other way. Everyone loves to hate those 'Gumps' up in Tuscaloosa, but LSU fans have a special, intimate hate relationship with Bama.

This burning hatred, at least in recent years, mainly stems from former LSU coach Nick Saban leaving his NFL coaching job and setting up shop in the same division of the same conference (yes, we are still mad about it). The other part of the hatred stems from our disdain for the pretentiousness of Bama fans, and it is pretty hilarious whenever they lose a game. The TV networks do an excellent job of finding grown men in the stands that are crying at the end of Bama's losing efforts. For Alabama Hate Week, I thought I would highlight the best memes and photoshop jobs featuring Nick Saban and Alabama football that the internet has to offer.

1. Liar, liar... Stating the obvious

2. A coach who has criticized players for leaving for the NFL early, Nick Saban did the same thing whenever he left LSU for the Dolphins...

...and then did it again when he left Miami for Tuscaloosa. Nick Saban definitely has a price.

3. Just because the phrase "Roll Tide" is the most annoying phrase in all of sports. A close second is Ole Miss' "Hotty Toddy".

4. One of my favorite Alabama icons, Harvey Updyke, pretty much sums up the Alabama fan base as a whole.

For those of you who don't know, Harvey Updyke is the Alabama 'super-fan' who poisoned the live oaks at Auburn's Toomer's Corner (Auburn fans really like their trees). Updyke did this in response to an Auburn jersey being taped onto the Bear Bryant statue in Tuscaloosa. Hilariously, he admitted to his crimes under the pseudonym "Al from Dadeville" on the Paul Finebaum radio show. The audio can be found here.

5. Many would argue that Les Miles is more like Forrest Gump than Nick Saban. Still a hilarious picture.

6. What I think every time I see Alabama football on television.

7. Alabama: a place where grown men cry after losing football games

8. Probably the most annoying thing about Bama football.

The program has had a lot of success in its history. Why do they have to claim national championships that weren't awarded to them by credible organizations? The 5 national titles Alabama claims before Bear Bryant's first championship are highly disputed and are not very legitimate. There is a Bleacher Report article from a few years ago that discusses Alabama's history of claiming national championships... It can be found here

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
