Why the Drinking Age Should Be Lowered

Let Adults Be Adults

Why the Drinking Age Should Be Lowered

The drinking age in America should be lowered. At 18 years old, you can vote and fight for the country, you can be charged with crime, but you cannot treat yourself to drink if you would like to.

This does not make any sense. Basically, you can have political efficacy and vote, you can go overseas and see things in war you probably should not see and you can get charged a crime, so you can do and witness a lot of things that many adults do not do or witness.

The law was created to prevent drunk driving fatalities, but maybe if kids were introduced to the right amount of alcohol consumption, there would be less fatalities. Because people would know how to properly drink and not binge drink.

Binge drinking is an issue in this country because 18-year-olds feel like they have to be rebellious against the laws and the drinking age law does not help this. Also, the government has to realize that there will always be underage drinking. There’s no way to crack down on it.

For example, take a house party that gets busted by the cops--they may be able to get a handful of people if that and the rest get off free so they should not even try. Frankly, it does not make any sense that an 18-year-old is considered an adult but still cannot do something that’s a part of adulthood.

I just do not think it is very fair. But then again people say life’s not fair which I guess would make sense in this situation. Who knows if Congress will ever make this change, I feel like eventually over time they will because they have more opposition against it.

Just lower the age because minors will always drink so there’s no point in trying to avoid that.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.

What's up Asshat,

I've composed a list of things that I wish upon you, and they're harsh and cruel. These things are things that I wouldn't wish upon my worst of enemies, not even that Starbuck's barista who always screws up my order, not even him. You fall into a whole other category of hate. You surpass Starbucks barista. Congratulations, I'm actually a pretty nice person, making you worthy of every single bit of torture I wish upon you. What are these things I wish upon you you might ask?
