The world is quieter without you, but you left us with a full heart.

Coach Matt Mounts was a friend/mentor to anyone who attended Wellington High school. Whether it was stepping up to fill in as a cheerleading coach in 2016 or by giving out Orbit Peach Gum from his stash in his drawer, he was always there.

Coach Mounts left us with these 4 Rules:

"1. Never Get Beat Deep.
2. Always Tie Your Shoes.
3. Keep Your Knees behind your toes.
4. Love each other."

I remember the day you had parted ways, it was a day full of disbelief and silence. The school went mute for a while, but we were all able to come togetherand reminisce about good times, filling the wall outside of the school with flowers.

I remember when he told me about Florida Gulf Coast University. He helped me with my applications and I shortly got accepted after his passing.

Coincidence or not, thank you.

There's no real definition of being a good person, but Coach Mounts had a grasp on it. He was looked up to by many through his actions he displayed towards the students and staff of Wellington High School.

It only takes one person to make a difference in others' lives by helping them feel capable and able.

The halls of Wellington High School will never be the same without you, but your spirit and stories live vicariously through new and old students.

He always found ways to help people towards fitness goals or was always an unbiased ear to talk to.

Thankyou for providing clarity for me and others

In this world we are in, it may seem that some people want to tear you down. Not always may people have the best interest and good intentions, but he showed me to not compare myself to others and instilled in me that I was capable as long as I do my best.

Coach Mounts,

Your soft smile as I would pass you in the hallways is missed. I thank you for leaving an imprint on my heart, the students, and the staff of Wellington High School. This was done through your ability of understanding, kindness, and humor.

I wouldn't be the same person I am today if you didn't come into my life and most likely wouldn't be attending Florida Gulf Coast University. You taught me and other attendees that beauty is skin deep and to never give up, but to give your all.

Overall, Coach Mounts gave me a different outlook on academics and showed me that I can do anything that I put my mind to.

I only hope that every school has their own Coach Matt Mounts.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
