Anyone that isn’t living under a rock is aware of the differences between the Democratic and Republican parties of the United States. But recently, possessing simple differences has turned into disgusting hatred and baseless stereotyping between the two. If you’re a democrat, then you’re automatically gay; and if you’re a republican, then you’re automatically a racist. This has to stop. We could sit and yell at each other all day, but what good would that do? Instead of sending hateful comments online or physically assaulting those who don’t agree with us, we need to learn to accept each other’s differences and love one another despite them.
1 Peter 3:9 says, “Do not repay evil with evil, or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.” The bible calls us to be the “bigger person”! It is guaranteed that you will encounter people with different ideals than you many times in life, but how you treat them (despite those differences), will ultimately determine your character. So, in a society of hatred and bigotry, let’s become people who show love and acceptance to all. Just think, WWJD?
