Loving Someone Far Away

Long distance is worth it.

Loving Someone Far Away

We cannot choose who we fall in love with. Love tends to come at the most random and oddest times and usually with someone we did not expect it to happen with. Loving someone means you can see your partner in a way no one else can. You do not mind their weird quirks. You would do nearly anything to make them happy. You want to do anything and everything with them right by your side. But what happens when they cannot be right by your side? What do you do then?

I’m talking about long distance. Your significant other is miles and hours away from your side. You cannot physically be with them all the time, whether it be because of a job, school, family, friends, financial reasons or various other causes. Long distance sucks, and many people say they would never do it. I was one of those people, but then one day, he came along and I fell in love with him. So I decided to give the long distance a try. With today’s technology, you can communicate through various ways such as calling, texting, email, FaceTime or if you like, writing letters. That communication line is great! Until you find yourself missing holding their hand, hugging them, going to dinner, watching a movie together and other cute couple things.

Some moments are worse than others, but you manage to pull through. You will have a countdown of the days until you see them again. The day finally comes and you feel a rush of excitement. You feel like you can climb mountains, lift cars, fly to the moon or do really anything, because you are just that excited to finally hold their hand again. Love brings out certain emotions that most other things cannot. Through love, you are more willing to wait for your partner. You are willing to sacrifice your time and money for when that countdown ends.

Knowing that one day you will be beside them permanently is the best feeling ever. One day you will arrive at the door and know that you will never leave again. You will not have to pack your bags again, only unpack. You will not have to travel back on that road or fly back on that plane. You waited minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years for this moment and it finally came. It will definitely be worth the wait. It also makes an interesting story for others. Loving someone means fighting for them no matter what and trying your absolute best. This day will come, and it will be more rewarding through all the waiting and missing you went through.

Falling in love happens in mysterious ways. You never know when it will come or who it will be with. The unknown is a very thrilling but nerve-racking thing to comprehend. But that is alright. Everyone finds their way through the sea of love. Long distance can come into effect with anyone, at any time and for any reason. Do not be scared of long distance; it is worth the wait. Nothing will break true love and that day will come when you knock on their door and you say, “I’m here to stay.”

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
