Stop loving God your way and learn to love God His way

Loving God His Way
Do I love God? If not, how?

It's easy to love God our way, but it's hard to love God his way.

As the generations progress and change, it's become more and more obvious that people lack the truth of Christ. Whether people are choosing to ignore what's real and what's true, they simply misunderstand the Biblical text, or they have gone as far as to deny the truth of Christ all together. Whatever the case may be, there's a disconnect brooding amongst the vast American population.

People follow this misconception that the act of knowing and loving God changes with society. People believe that God's love stretched over the lives we choose to live. But it's imperative to realize that God's word is never changing. Thus, Gods love is never changing.

That ultimately means, to be a follower of Christ you must love God His way and not your way.

It's amazing how easy it is to fall into the trap of believing that as long as we know we love Christ, it's acceptable for us to live life sinfully. God's love simply and powerfully does not work that way. He is a God of love, but more importantly He is our Father, and that type of love carriers an expectation that we, as His children, must follow. God is not lenient with His demands, and no matter how loving God is, He is not accepting of sin. God may love us despite our sins and our sinful nature, however, that does not mean God allows us to take advantage of the love He gives.

Walking away from sin. Laying down our lives to pick up the cross and follow Christ, is by no means meant to be easy. Sin was designed to be desirable. We are selfish and destructible human beings. But by God's incomprehensible love and grace, we have the ability to be forgiven for our sinful decisions, as long as you ask for that forgiveness and strive to live your life for Christ and to love God His way!

As we watch the world crumble with tragedy after tragedy, we see this country cry out to God in prayer. But I firmly believe that God is no longer the foundation of this country. How can we expect God to rescue us from the consistent pain, when time after time, the American people are denying Him and pushing Him out? Jesus said in Matthew 10:33 that if we deny Him before men, then He will deny us before his father in heaven.

Christ needs to be the foundation and bread of our lives. We need to bring back the word of God within this country, but we must start within ourselves. We can't simply love God our way and expect that to be enough. But in order for our prayers to be answered and for us to flood the world with God's word, we must love God and follow God His way. Anything less than that causes more and more damage to the truth and faith that strengthens the foundation of what we represent as advocates for Christ's mission. We must all understand the truth of Christ and then live that truth out and spread that truth throughout the world. God does not mold to us, we must mold to Him.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
