Dear Best Friend,

Thank you. Thank you for everything you've ever done for me. Thank you for being my bestie during middle school and high school. Even though we didn't go to the same high school, we could always pick up where we left off as though no time were wasted. Thank you for being my person to laugh with and my shoulder to cry on. Thank you for being with me through the best times of my life, and not leaving when things became rough. Thank you for keeping my secrets and trusting me with yours. Thank you for the late night calls talking about everything and nothing. I love them. Thank you.

Starting from the beginning, I'm so glad we became friends all those years ago. The birthday parties, the sleepovers, and the hanging out are all memories I'll cherish forever. You're family is always so welcoming to me and so open to have me over, it's like a second home for me.

Growing up with you by my side has been amazing. After grade school, we split apart to go to high school. But that didn't taint our relationship. We may not of talked for a while, but once we got back together, it was like no time was lost. That's what I love. We can always pick up were we leave off. You're my other half, the twin sister I never had and best friend I love.

Life without you would be rough. People have showed up in my life, made an impression on me, then left. But you stayed. You've stayed through the heartbreaks, bad decisions, disagreements (though we have very few), crabby moods, other crappy friendships, listened to my issues and so much more. You've cheered me up when I was at my lowest and helped me so much. And most of all, you've been with me through the best. I'v been able to share accomplishments with you and you boost me up, never tearing me down, you keep my secrets and I know I can trust you with my life.

The best thing about you is that you're you. You're the most kind-hearted, sweetest, person I know and so beautiful. You're mindful, incredibly smart and so much fun to be around. You're my role model and inspiration. So thank you.

Also, thank you for taking that spontaneous trip Downtown for me to look for my bracelet I lost. I didn't know who to call who'd actually go with me at that time of night. Thank you for going with me and having the hope we'd find it. Thank you for running down Michigan Avenue with me and running in and out of stores with me. Thank you for pulling me away from the curb as cars rushed by so I wouldn't get hurt looking in the gutters. Thank you for holding me when I cried because I couldn't find it. Thank you for being here in my life. I've never needed someone more and there are no words to explain my happiness and gratitude that you're my friend.

I love you to the moon and back,

Liv

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
