"Sometimes things happen to us that we just don't understand. These things become doors and windows to our destiny." -Andrea Nugent
My mother is a strong, independent, and loving woman. She has cared for her dear and loving husband and has provided and supported for her children. She has always put others before herself, and she never judges anyone or anything. She also has great work ethic, and she is quite driven.
She was also full of spirit and never let any guest leave the house without food. One of the most important thing that my mother has taught me is to have HOPE. I did not realize that hope will be important until one day.
Several months ago, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. My family and I were in utter shock when we heard about the diagnosis. We didn't understand why this was happening to her, but she reminded my family and I that the LORD has a reason for everything.
Soon, my mother had to go to clinics to have MR scans and chemotherapy. As expected, my mother began to lose her hair during the chemotherapy treatments. However, she did not lose her FAITH.
Instead of growing weaker, my mother grew STRONGER. Even though she was in pain, she never gave up. My mother has pushed through many obstacles in her life. She never had things handed out to her. She was always working hard to earn the things that she needed and to put food on the table.
She has inspired me through her struggles because she has shown me that even though when life hits you at an instant, you should always find a way to overcome it. My mother has struggled through breast cancer, and she will have her LAST chemo treatment soon!!!
I BELIEVE that I can overcome anything because of her. I believe that I can make a difference and can achieve anything. I believe that I can EXPLORE the world and learn the different types of cultures. I believe that I can help make the world a better place. My mother is the example of the type of woman I want to be: wise, carefree, and humble.
Happy Last Day of Chemo Mama! I love you!
