Love - the literal definition being a deep romantic or sexual attachment to anyone or anything, but what is love to people? Some say it is affection for others, an attraction one cannot explain. I say love is a bond that ties two souls together, the bond that is true only when the two that correlates the end of the bond come together to accept love. Love is the basis of marriage, the basis of parent and child. It is a noun, and it is also a verb - to love and be loved.
It can be the grandest of emotions, and the trickiest to understand when one fails in their quest to keep that love safe, happy. Nurturing love is a difficult quest for most, especially those who stand true to it and their very beings - there are falls and there are lifts, mountains to conquer to prove it undoubtedly and valleys to cross when it seems all is lost. Love is a never-ending mission, a never-ending task for those who truly wish to keep it, to keep their partner. It all depends on the two involved if it is worth it to defeat their obstacle in their way of love, or to abandon it in pursuit of an easier way.
Many do not pursue love, as they view it as either a waste of time, energy, money, or a combination of the three. They also fear the anxiety and pain that comes with the pursuit of love, of which can be devastating and overbearing on the heart and mind. In my experience, it nearly drove me insane as I tried to find the one I would spend the rest of my life with (and luckily my search is over). Most do not manage to escape the cycle and only end up hurting themselves the more - possibly driving them to death.
Love will never be easy, even if you have found the one to spend your life with. There will be fights, there will be words exchanged, and there will be sorrow-filled moments when you feel as though you lost that person forever. Just yesterday I had this experience, and I felt like dying - I think of my relationship to lovebirds, when one dies the other follows because they cannot live without the other.
Overall, do not give up on love, just remember that it is always worth it beyond the mountain of problems.
