Love Yourself First

How can you ever expect to love your life if you don’t love yourself?

We spend a lot of our time trying to get the perfect something: the perfect job, the perfect relationship, the perfect life. But, what is “perfect” anyway? Is any of that worth it if we are just content with who we are? We settle for one thing just to get to the next. We accept what we think is good enough, when good enough is never enough.

When you picture your life, do you see yourself with a job that just pays the bills? Do you see yourself in a relationship that is “okay” instead of happily ever after? Are you just going through the motions to get by or is your life what you always hoped it would be? Are you just content with who you are and who you are becoming, or do you love yourself?

One of the most beautiful things about a person is the way they carry themselves – the way they walk, talk, think, and act. There is a splendor in someone who shows that they love who they are, even when other things in life aren’t going as planned.

The inner beauty that glows from a person is something they must choose to radiate. They must choose to show the world what they love about who they are. Show what parts of them they are the proudest of and what it truly is that makes them happy.

There is the way we see ourselves and the way that others see us. However, believe it or not, these two are one in the same. Others feed off the vibes we give them. They get to know us by the way we present ourselves.

Just like the way others see us, our lives seem to “see us” as well. The attitudes and feelings that we show off to the world determines how the world is going to respond. If you show that good enough is enough for you, then good enough is all you will ever get.

Every day we write the next page in the novel of our lives. We get to choose the story line. We get to decide from the moment we wake up if the day is going to be a good day or not. We get to decide who we surround ourselves with. We get to decide if we fulfill our dreams. We get to decide whether to settle for “good enough.”

We have the power to choose what is best for us because we want the best for the people we love. If we love ourselves first, then the rest will follow suit.

Remember that you deserve the world. You have full control of how you live your life. The way you choose to carry yourself is completely up to you. Every day can be the best day of your life if you let it.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
