He Fell For His Best Friend: Part Two
Carollton, Kentucky

I'm not gonna lie, she was stunning; all of those years growing up, she leaves to college and comes back a bombshell! Sitting there on the bridge, all he can remember is the kiss they shared. It involved him, her, the mirror maze, and a chunk of cotton candy courtesy of his friend Jimmy right before walking up to her. Before they knew it all of his friends and hers were off elsewhere going on rides. Yet they still walked towards each other.

"Hey! I'm in a little sticky situation... Although I've known you for so long, I have this cotton candy, noticed how cute you've gotten since graduation, and can't seem to form much coherent sentences thinking of you... Also, I need someone to share this cotton candy with- I don't know why Jimmy gave me this, want some cotton candy?"

With a giggle and a roll of the eyes, she told him how she always had a crush on him, and he's also pretty damn handsome. He told her that he didn't really know how he felt until he saw her now and realized that he doesn't want to see her with another guy, that all the feelings he'd had for her in the past were mistakenly interpreted as a chum-like bond, that he's never dated anyone before, and only now does he know it wouldn't feel right if he was dating someone other than her. With all the compiled memories, the conversation intensified from funny memories and chuckling and giggles to romantic fantasies they'd wished they'd done if only the event were happening now; at the end the two were backs against the wall making out next to the dark reflections of themselves in the funhouse mirrors.

Swinging his feet still through the water on that bridge, the breeze picks up and the smell as well as the chill that ran down his back reminds him of that night. He reminisces of the sweet, sticky, and smooth taste of his lips on hers, the smooth warm chocolatey feel you get from looking in her eyes, he reminisces on the chills he got from when he first met her again, at the fair, after so long apart, to when she kissed him, surprising him in the middle of his conversation, and when they kissed in front of their friends when they announce they're a thing. He even remembers the chills he got when they were on the Ferris wheel, when they were boarding the Ferris wheel, all the night lights danced him her eyes and all the lights, the kissing, the being with her were all such a fantasy to him that he now feels like it was one big happy dream.

He recalls the jolt he got when he realized half-way up the Ferris wheel that he needed to get her number since he'd not called her up in so long, mainly because he lost his phone in the toilet last week while napping.. long story. He recalls the larger reality check he got when he almost lost his new phone when he dropped his phone while adding her number... dang Ferris wheel carts. But now he's content knowing they're together and that he has her number. She's on her way now, actually, the planned to hang out tonight since the day they became boyfriend girlfriend.

It's at this moment that he hears her car come up, and then her footsteps. His heartbeat goes up in anticipation and excitement.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
