I Love Recklessly And You Should Too

Love with all of your heart no matter how many times you've been hurt. Open your arms and your heart to new people.

I know what you're thinking, I don't mean reckless like go around breaking a bunch of hearts. I mean recklessly like the song, "Reckless Love" by Corey Asbury. In his song he talks about how good God is to us, how God puts us before himself always. He sings, "Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God," demonstrating that God loves us to his core.

This past week I have been struggling with people and how I see them treat me and the way the treat others. Some people are so cruel towards each other, and I too find myself sometimes doing this. Yet the truth is we never truly know what someone is going through whenever they lash out at us and we never know what someone is going through whenever we lash out at them.

I had a talk with my older sister and she told me how proud she was of me for loving people so big. I'll be honest loving people the way I do is truly a struggle. There are people who rub you the wrong way, people who are nothing but just nasty mean to you and those who you truly just don't like for reasons only you'll ever know. In saying all of this I have to remind myself that even the best of us do all of these things; rub people the wrong way, are sometimes just nasty mean and some people just truly don't like each other, yet God still loves us.

God constantly loves all of us. God loves us all despite all or sins, mistakes even those who constantly forsake him. God recklessly loves us by always putting us first. God makes sure we know that he is always there for us and loves us so much. There is nothing that compares to the love God has for us.

Yet knowing how much people love us is something very amazing. We should love each other the same way God loves us. We should start trying to put others before ourselves the way the God puts us first. I'm not saying always and not every situation is the same, but let someone skip ahead of you in line in the food court for all you know that simple act could make their day.

Whenever you're going through your day think about little things you could do to show people how loved they truly are. You never know what kind of day a person is having. Love with all of your heart no matter how many times you've been hurt. Open your arms and your heart to new people. You never know how much that could make a difference to one person.

Always remember to love recklessly.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
