It’s ok to have your heart broken, it’s ok to learn from mistakes, and it’s ok to love again.
Throughout our life, we hear so many people talk about how much love hurts. We watch reality TV stars have their hearts torn out for the world to see and we listen to our friends cry about losing their first love.
And it’s scary.
But I am a true believer in love and I encourage it to the fullest. Maybe it’s the Pisces in me, but there are billions of people in this world and everybody was created for somebody.
That doesn’t mean give every person a shot at your heart, but everyone does not deserve to be treated like your ex.
Relationships are learning experiences; they are not meant to destroy you. You can learn your standards, your worth, what you will not allow and who has your best interests just after one bad break up.
Think of it as a maze. You run into dead ends once, twice, maybe three times but eventually, you begin to realize which route doesn’t work, find a different path and reach your goal. In the end, those mistakes were necessary and practices.
Everyone won’t be lucky to find their true love on the first go around. That doesn’t mean life is over. Take a break, re-connect with yourself and maybe try dating someone who is not so similar to your last.
Heartbreak is nothing you should ever be ashamed and if anyone every belittles you for letting your wall down to someone you thought had pure intentions, you should probably re-evaluate their association.
There will be people who may gossip, “How could she be so stupid?!” But unless you or someone you know can see the future, you were never too “stupid.”
More like impassioned.
And for those of you who are afraid to love because you’ve seen some bad outcomes, have faith. It’s a very beautiful feeling and I promise you will experience a sensation that’s out of this universe when you finally find the partner who was meant for you.
Now, I leave you with another mushy quote to get your inner butterflies moving.
“Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around. You tell them things that you’ve never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and actually want to hear more.
You share hopes for the future, dreams that will never come true, goals that were never achieved and the many disappointments life has thrown at you...
You can be yourself and not worry about what they will think of you because they love you for who you are." - Bob Marley
