Dear Mom,
I just wanted to tell you that I love you and that I am so thankful to have someone like you in my life. You have always helped me and pushed me to be the best person that I can be. I cannot stress how much you have influenced my life. You made sure that I always was involved in something and that I knew the importance of helping others. I love how big your heart is and how much you put into your work. Thank you for taking me to Disney, sharing your love for writing and reading with me, and for just being there in general. You are the one I run to when I have a bad day or something just goes terribly wrong at school. You were there to coach me in softball when I first became interested, and you were there when I decided that I no longer wanted to teach, but instead be a historian of some sort. You were always there to push me to do things that interested me and I appreciate that so much. I might not always show you that I care, but I really do. I always want to hang out and spend time with you when I come home on the weekends. We have our rituals we see whats on t.v., decide that there isn't jack on and then watch netflix for several hours. Or we find something on TCM to watch. It's you that I get my love for old movies from; I'll never forget the first time we watched Gigit together, that was the day that they were doing a Dorris Day marathon and we watched With Six You Get Eggroll as well. I love all of the quirky things that we do together no matter if it's looking at trailers or campers. We have so much fun together. You're always a phone call away, and listen to me complain about the papers and the food. You can always plan on me to call and ask what's for dinner on Friday nights. You were there at all of my band functions. In general you are just there when I need you. You are my best friend and have been for quite a while now. We may not always get along, mainly because we are spitting images of each other (literally if you put us side by side we look exactly the same except for the fact that I have brown almost black hair and you have blonde hair.) As the saying goes, the apple does not fall far from the tree. I love you and I thank you for being there for me, and for instilling such ethics and standards in me. Thank you for letting me bake and for teaching me how to do laundry, that came in handy freshman year. You inspire me daily and I only wish that I can be half the person you are when I grow up.
Sincerely,
Your Loving Daughter
P.S You are the Lorelai to my Rory
