Love. Have you ever felt it? Has it driven you crazy or made you do things you normally wouldn't do? You crave it and want to feel it more than any other emotion because love is the strongest force. Right? We read about it in books and magazines and online articles. We watch it in movies and television shows. We write about and fantasize about it. Yet a lot do not really know what it is really like to be in love. Most people have their perspective of it and their fantasies.

Well here is mine:

Love is like drowning and you know that the only person who can save you is them. You can taste it like salt water forcing its way into your mouth. You can feel it like the crushing heaviness of darkness that surrounds you. You can see it like the light that is just above your reach. You can hear it like the crashing of waves that you can barely discern over the sound of your own heartbeat in your ears. Then you realize the person drowning you is the person you love and that the whole time you could breath because they are breathing air into you.

Love is like falling and the only person who can catch you is your love. If you hit the bottom and no one is there it can shatter you into a million pieces. Oh but if they are there you will know without a doubt that they are the one. They are the person you want to spend you whole life with. You don't question it.

Love is standing in a crowd of people looking at the person you love and the sounds and people fade away. It is walking into a room full of people and being able to find them like you are magnets that are being pushed together. It is like fire in your veins that strengthens you and weakens you all at the same time. It is pure electricity when you touch, like you are aware of the atoms that are in their body. It is butterflies all over your body when they are around. It is feeling secure and protected when you are with them.

It is giving someone your heart. Sometimes you don't even realize you gave it to them. It is feeling a pang when you realize that this person has complete control of your heart. That they can destroy you or protect you. Love is something that can break even the strongest of people. It can drive even the most sensible man to his knees. It is a bolt of lightning piercing your heart and making you drop. It is a kind of sorrow and a kind of pleasure all rolled into one. It is hope and peace but in an instance can turn into an unimaginable pain. It is a weakness and a strength all rolled into one word. One feeling.

It is trust and hope. It is tenderness and care. it is friendship and commitment. It is love.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
