Makeup is awesome because it empowers. It's creative and artistic. It makes you feel more confident and enhances your natural beauty. It can also conform and configure new shapes and faces through special effects. It helps convey a message in movies. It can even correlate to a specific time in history or a setting. Makeup is an essential tool for creating so much that exists in this world.

For me it's an important part of my morning that allows me to take time to focus on myself and prepare for the day. I tend to feel better and in return do better, because I look my best. And it's an important steppingstone from childhood to teenage, or adult years. Makeup is usually there for you to feel extra special on your big days too, such as, special events, proms, graduations, and weddings.

It's a growing field of work & interest in this new technological age, especially with the advancements in photography and video. The companies/manufacturers and its customers relationships have never been so close and it's never been so easy to develop such things without the help of social media.

Social media makes everything so much more accessible, relatable, and achievable. On sites like Instagram I tend to get lost scrolling from one page to another that links me to another page, and tags another person. I think, in that experience of admiration, I've learned to appreciate women for their beauty, (with or without makeup).

It's easy to get overwhelmed when it seems like everyone is half your age, but twice as successful or beautiful and skinny as you are. However, t's an awesome feeling when you're able to appreciate and be inspired, instead of threatened and self-conscious from other people's talents.

I think it's important that everyone is celebrated, admired, and accepted in this close-knit community of Women who support and inspire each other.

On the Upper East Side, Blair Waldorf is an icon. She's what every girl aspires to be. She's beautiful, confident, and can handle any obstacle that life throws at her. Sure, she may just be a television character. But for me, she's a role model and theres a lot that can be learned from Queen B.

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:
