Some siblings say they’ve been best friends since birth. For us, that wasn’t the case. Maybe if you weren’t such a mean child we’d have more years of great friendship under our belts, but hindsight is 20/20, right? Regardless of how terrifying you were as a two-year-old, you have grown up to be a great kid, and I have enjoyed watching your growth. I have loved every second of being your older sister, and even more being your best friend. You’re growing up quickly, and I have some things I should probably say before you do.
Stay you
Your quick wit is unmatched by many, and it’s a rare person that possess a heart as big as yours. I don’t want you to ever change your goofy personality or awkward, but kind, tendencies. Don’t ever hesitate to crack a joke, sing, or dance. Always stay ready to tell a story that touched your heart, ball harder than anyone else (or so you think), or to just be you.
Find your passions and chase them
While you may not have found much that you love right now outside of a good bowl of cereal or your favorite video game, you have many life experiences ahead of you. Find the things that bring you to life, that put your talents to good use. Do what makes you happy and try the things really allow you to shine.
Know that you’ve always got a friend in me
Thanks for sharing my love for Harry Potter, cheesy Christian movies, and going out to eat for as many meals as possible. Thanks for being one of the only humans I know that is every bit as weird as I am. Thanks for always showing me the best music and for constantly being down for an impromptu dance party. as you grow up and your life changes, your immediate circle of friends may not stAy the same, but you’ve always got me. I may know all of your most embarrassing moments and often use them against you, but I’ll stay your friend forever, regardless.
Thanks for being the greatest little brother I could ask for. Now stop growing up so quickly.
