A Love Letter To The Girl That Doesn't Think She's Good Enough

Whether you acknowledge it or not, people look up to you and adore you. Whether the individual beneath your skin loves herself or not. You are wonderful; you are good enough to be on this planet of ours.

A Love Letter To The Girl That Doesn't Think She's Good Enough

I can see how worn down you are every day, beautiful. Seeing the smile fade upon your face like Sun after a hard day of providing it's beams of optimism, it's truly upsetting. Believe or not, I too am like you. Going day by day, thinking that I am just some vesicle of nothingness, pushing myself to get up every morning and dragging the shell of my body around as I venture in a world that I feel like I shouldn't inhabit.

No difference between the dirt on the ground, when all the other girls at school and work are the flowers in the garden in which I rest. When I see you it's like a mirror projecting loss of spirit and admiration for the soul beneath my skin. Yet, the difference is you actually are amazing to me. You embody what most girls in this generation want; that is being unique.

Everything about you from the way you walk to how you aren't afraid to speak your mind is amazing. Whether you acknowledge it or not, people look up to you and adore you. Whether the individual beneath your skin loves herself or not. You are wonderful; you are good enough to be on this planet of ours. Someone so profound, like yourself, should learn this.

No matter how much hate is generated and cruelty tainting the good of humanity. You are a diamond within the rubble. Or how most people like to state; you're one in a million. We need more people like you honestly. Always trying to take care of others, protecting your rights and what you believe in, and most importantly believing there still in good left in the world even though you wake up feeling as if you are apart of the minority of those who are worth it.

So the next time you think you are not meant to be apart of the majority of those who passionately cherish themselves as a treasure amongst society. Just think of these words that you are reading right how. How you are meant to be on this planet, there is only one of you and that one of you is tremendously special in our community of amazing individuals. We need to stop dehumanizing ourselves and being we are not worth it and start building ourself up on the statements from those who love you and say otherwise. And to that girl that doesn't believe she's good enough. Sweetheart, we all are happy you are around.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
