A Love Letter To My Car

I don't know what I would do without you. Thanks for being there.

A Love Letter To My Car
Erin Kron

Although I have only known you for a few years of my life, we share a special connection I could never find with anyone (or anything) else. You’re always there for me when I need you, you carry my weight on your shoulders, you're strong and never break down and you’ve taken me to so many amazing places school never could. When I say I don’t know where I’d be without you, I truly mean it.

When we first met, it was love at first sight. I remember looking out the living room window and there you were. You had just gotten a car wash and a fresh wax, looking handsome as ever. You made your spot on the street your new home as I made a spot for you in my heart.

Not only are you just as amazing on the outside as you were when I first met you, you're just as perfect on the inside. You play all my favorite songs and hold on to all my favorite CDs. When the weather is nice, we roll down the windows and sing at the top of our lungs to songs we know all the words to. I know I turn the volume up a little too loud for you sometimes, but I know you can tell it makes me happy, so you don’t mind. In return, I love surprising you with the “Vanillaroma” Little Tree. You smell amazing for two weeks straight, and it brings a smile to my face whenever I hop in the driver seat. It’s the little things we do for each other that keep us going.

You’ve always been so good to me, and I’m sorry if I haven’t given you the respect you deserve. I’m sorry I always leave my empty Starbucks cup in the cupholder, I’m working on throwing it away, I promise. And I know you deserve a better wash than just rainwater, but that doesn't mean I don’t love you. I promise I’ll get you the deluxe wash before summer’s over (I know you’ve always wanted that).

But just like your gas tank, my love for you never runs out. You’re everything I could ever ask for and more. All these new fancy cars with tricked out interiors and “sick rims” have nothing on you. I don’t need a car with low milage or a built-in GPS. All we need is a full tank, and we could go miles and miles. I’d drive across the country with you if I could prove how much you mean to me!

You’ve given me so many memories and taken me places that I’ll never forget. Eventually our time will come and your engine will give out. After you, I’ll have to get a new car, but it could never replace you. Your sense of character is truly irreplaceable, and there is no other car like you. Thank you for pushing me to be responsible, caring, on time, cautious and showing me your wild side.

Love always,

Your owner

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
