Mom, for as long as I can remember, I have been amazed by you. You have been my biggest inspiration and my loudest supporter. You have given me so much more than I could have ever asked for in my life, and because of these things and so much more, I am writing you this love letter to try and explain to you how much you mean to me.

The first thing on my list to thank you for is for being my best friend. Now that I have shown you the amazing world of Gilmore Girls, you know exactly what I mean when I call you the Lorelei to my Rory. You are truly my best friend in this world; you always have been. You have told me about the way that I used to follow you around as a young child, never far behind you, and I guess not much has changed today. Most people know that where ever you are, I am probably not that far away. I hope you know that this is never going to change.

The next thing that I want to thank you for is for you unwavering support of my dreams. Mom, you have amazed me so many times with the grace that you have when you are approached with a situation that may not be ideal. Ever since I got to college, you have been supporting me non-stop even when that meant supporting a dream that was going to take me away from home and away from you. Thank you for understanding that I have to find out who I am and never once standing in the way of that.

Mom, you are the best listener, did you know that? I cannot count the times that you have sat down next to me and listened to the heaviness that was weighing down on my heart. You may feel like you do not know how to help me, but what you don't realize is how much your actions already help. The listening ear that you lend to me and the warm hugs that you give me have the ability to melt my sorrows in a second. Thank you for always making the time to help me, even when helping me means an impromptu trip to a zoo an hour away just to clear my mind.

You are truly the strongest person I have ever met. I have seen you go through many struggles in my lifetime, but none as large as the loss of Brandon. Mom, I am so inspired by the strength that you have shown in this heartbreaking situation. Your faith through this loss has shown me how to trust in God even through unimaginable circumstances. Brandon would be so proud of the mom that he loved with ever part of him, and I know that he is sending down all of his love to you constantly.

Throughout my life, you have shown me who I want to become. You have given me the perfect example of what a mom should be, and I pray that I will one day be half the woman that you are.

Momma, you will forever be my best friend, my inspiration, my heart. I will never be able to show you the love that I have for you, but I will never stop trying.

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
