A Love Letter To My Husband

The story of a King.

A Love Letter To My Husband
Franklyna Gabriel-Delva

To My King,

I am writing you this letter because I love you, and because you mean everything to me. You were handpicked for me by God. You are my King and I am your Queen.

I am your most valued possession. You have shown me the love that my father always wanted for me. You care for me when I am sick, you lift my spirits when I am low. You are a provider and everything that God has prepared for me. The amount of love that I have for you cannot be expressed in mere words and so I try my best to show you how much you are appreciated every single day. You are worth more than the world to me.

When I became sick, you were there for every appointment. You were there for every shot, for every disappointing test result and for every time I cried "why me?" You were there to put food in my mouth when I didn't want to eat and you stayed up with me when I couldn't sleep. You even made sure to notice when I was struggling even when I tried to hide it because you knew how hard it was for me to admit that I needed help. You were up all night in the emergency rooms with me. You put a smile on my face when I had forgotten how to. You give me my injections because I'm too chicken to take them myself and I cannot thank you enough for the amount of love that you have shown me because even when I didn't want to admit it, you showed me that life is worth fighting for.

But I am afraid...

I am afraid that some people don't understand your worth. I am afraid that people fear your majesty and may seek to take my King away from me. I'm afraid that they don't understand how important you are to me and that you have a family who loves you.

When I think of it, my stomach turns, my spirit weakens, and my mind is a blur. I am distraught and unable to understand why they can't see what I see. After all, how do you overcome the thought of being robbed of a God given gift?

But because you are a king, you don't let it phase you. Your crown remains untarnished. You know that your kingdom is not of this world but have decided to bring a little peace of heaven to earth. You take the necessary precautions but continue to treat everyone the same no matter the color of their skin or the uniform that they wear.

You continue to spread love to everyone that you encounter and pray for peace. You know that the only way to truly achieve peace is to represent it. Your noble character is what follows you and what will be your legacy. You are thoughtful, honest, courteous, above reproach, and a person worthy of respect. You are the love of my life and royalty among men.

I am blessed every day that I am able to spend with you and call you my husband. You are a King made in the image of God himself. I am inspired when I see that the troubles of the world do not shake your belief in humanity or your faith. You wake up every morning, the same caring, funny, thoughtful person that I married. So thank you......

Thank you for being exactly who you are. Thank you for not letting anyone shake your self- esteem and thank you for being my husband.

I still have my fears, but for as long as you are mine, I have a guardian angel on Earth.

Yours Eternally,

Your Queen

P.S. In case you didn't know..... I love you.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
