Dear Thrift Stores,

I love you! There I said it now everyone knows! And what isn't there to love about you; from your clothes to your housewares you make every aspect of my life a million times better! You inspire me to take chances and to live as a new person every morning. You refresh my wardrobe whenever I need it. And you do it all without judging me! I love your jeans that cost a fraction of what brand new jeans do. I love that you have rows and rows of dress pants. And I love that in the middle of the summer when it is hotter than it should be in July I can still buy a chunky knit sweater. I honestly adore your sweater selection, it brings me so much joy to see that rack every time I come in. I love the second-hand shoes, I love that my favorite shoes have all come from thrift stores and I am unashamed of that.

And what about your home goods? How could we forget the fact that you enable my mug collection and you are unabashed about it? That everytime I am in I can find a new gem to add to my collection. Or that once I got all of my table service for a dinner party from a thrift store. That your plates are worthy of homes where they will be used, with their mod designs and traditional china patterns. And the home decor worthy of any Grandma's home. But when on that one random excursion I do find a treasure it has to be swept up. Oh and your media! How could I forget your endless $0.99 vinyls? The records that started it all came from you! And the books: paperback, hardback, and children's, enough to fill so many libraries!

Oh, Thrift Stores how my love for you has grown. I remember being a young boy and my single mother, who shopped in you because it was affordable and not at all because it was cool, filling my wardrobe with your beautiful garments. And from that time on my love for you has only grown! And now pop culture loves you, how can that even be? I guess we have Macklemore to thank for that! You have changed my life for the better and I truly mean that from the very bottom of my heart!

All my love,

Ethan

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
