Dear College BFFs,

When I first came to college, I didn’t know how much I needed all of you in my life and all for such different reasons. I thought that I had all that I needed in my life already. But after being thrown into college, trying to find my place and after being super-awkward for way too long, we found each other. I cannot thank God, fate, luck or whatever it was that brought you all to me enough.

I owe you all a huge, endless thank you.

Thank you for constantly having my best interest at heart, even when I am annoying as hell and won't shut up. Thank you for always making us late for literally everything because we needed to check the bar lighting on our outfits. And for texting me back, just in the nick of time, before I bought that really ugly dress or when I am about to have a panic attack over dirty dishes. Thank you for letting me be a brat, then telling me what a terror I was being. Thank you for always taking things just a little too far in most cases and for being dramatic in situations that are calm. Thank you for forcing me to go out when I’m begging you to let me sleep because “this will be a big night.” Thank you for letting me steal all of your clothes, constantly. And thank you for making me look like an idiot in class when a text pops up from you.

THANK YOU.

You are not people that I had been sitting next to in class every day since first grade or that lived down the street from me. You are the friends that I chose. You are the people that have got me through times that thought I wouldn’t get through. I cherish the moments when we embarrass ourselves in front of people that we thought mattered and for making a simple walk down the street a memory I will never forget. You all have made me into the person that I am and the person that I want to be. You push me to be comfortable and confident in my own self and for that I love you all.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
