In This Article:

Every single person is capable of expressing love, but it's no secret that each person has their own way of doing so. According to Dr. Gary Chapman, there are actually five specific ways that people show their love. If you don't know how you specifically show your love, knowing these five ways may help you figure it out.

Acts of Service:The main aspect of this love language is action. You find love to be more about doing something rather than just saying it.

Gift Giving:For you, love is shown through giving and receiving. Whether the gift is big or small, this love language is all about expressing love through presents.

Physical Touch:This one is all about touch, whether it be holding hands and hugging or something more sexual. Showing love for you is all about being physical.

Quality Time: You want someone to devote their time to you as you give your attention to them. This love language focuses on spending time with your partner as a way of showing love.

Words of Affirmation: This love language is all about praise, appreciation, and affection through words. You want to hear and be heard.

So, why not dig a little bit deeper into our love lives and take a look into our horoscopes? Surprisingly, the stars can tell you much more about your life and personality than you may think. And actually, the stars just may be able to give you a little insight on how exactly your partner loves you and how they like to be loved back.

Take a look at the following twelve star signs to see if you and your partner are loving each other in all the right ways.

1. Aquarius (January 20th - February 18th)

Words of Affirmation and Acts of Service

An Aquarius is known for their rebellious nature, along with their strong-willed personality. You may not always know what they are thinking, as an Aquarius is often very unpredictable and secretive. However, an Aquarius is always considerate and kindhearted. An Aquarius wants to talk with and explore the minds of the people around them. They have a vast interest in others' lives, though they aren't too concerned about what others think of them. An Aquarius wants to have their own space and independence in a relationship, yet they strive to achieve a valuable connection and thought-provoking conversations with their partner.

2. Pisces (February 19th - March 20th)

Acts of Service and Quality Time

Pisces are undoubtedly the most compassionate, and I'm not saying that just because I happen to be a Pisces. Us Pisces are known for being instinctive, creative, and imaginative. We also are quite friendly, though this can often backfire for a Pisces. Our nice and empathetic ways can lead to us Pisces being taken advantage of. A Pisces tends to consume the feelings of the people around them, and we often do it without even trying. In a relationship, a Pisces will look for constant companionship, as they hate feeling lonely. It may take a while to get on a Pisces' good side, but when you do, dedicate your time and effort to them. Us Pisces tend to be hopeless romantics and we want our partners to not only tell us but show us that they love us.

3. Aries (March 21st - April 19th)

Words of Affirmation and Quality Time

An Aries can be quite the attention seeker and they know what they want without a doubt. They are not afraid to go for their desires and they will certainly want some compliments on the way. An Aries seeks praise, but they also love to give it. An Aries wants their partner to reassure them and devote lots of time and attention to them. As much as an Aries loves to talk and hear about themselves, they also want a partner who will spend time with them and vent their heart out.

4. Taurus (April 20th - May 20th)

Gift Giving and Physical Touch

A Taurus definitely has champagne taste, in the form of both gifts and pleasure. They want the best for themselves and their partner, no matter how exquisite it may be. As someone with a luxurious taste, a Taurus loves materialistic items and they love to give gifts to others. Instead of someone else giving their partner something less impressive, a Taurus seeks to give their partner everything they can in every aspect of their relationship.

5. Gemini (May 21st - June 20th)

Words of Affirmation and Acts of Service

A Gemini is certainly easy to get along with, their charm allows them to talk to everyone. Although, they can become bored quite easily, so make sure you keep them intrigued through smart and deep conversations. A Gemini is flirty and fun and they seek real feelings, conversations, and actions especially.

6. Cancer (June 21st - July 22nd)

Words of Affirmation and Quality Time

A Cancer has an incredibly nurturing personality and gives unconditional love. They are homebodies as they feel safe there and seek to spend quality time alone with their partner. A Cancer also finds sweet and sincere words to be one of the best ways to express love. They are protective and devoted and will stay by their partner's side through thick and thin.

7. Leo (July 23rd - August 22nd)

Gift Giving and Acts of Service

A Leo is known for taking risks, as they are brave and strong. They desire to be complimented and spoiled in a relationship, but they also seek to help those around them. A Leo will certainly spoil their partner, but they definitely expect to have the generosity returned.

8. Virgo (August 23rd - September 22nd)

Acts of Service and Quality Time

A Virgo is all about the details, often to a point of obsession. Although, this does make them an excellent life and love partner. A Virgo tends to be a bit reserved, but once you earn their trust, they'll happily open up to you. They want to help others and will certainly go above and beyond for their partners. However, they don't do those things just for you to try to return the favor — a Virgo is just that nice and does not want anything back. All a Virgo wants is to be able to trust and love their partner, they want to devote their time to their partner.

9. Libra (September 23rd - October 22nd)

Words of Affirmation and Acts of Service

A Libra has a natural way of being incredibly friendly and cordial — they thrive when they're around people and especially in a relationship. A Libra wants to be admired and complimented by their partner and they have no problem with listening to their partner's thoughts and problems. A Libra is certainly a romantic person, meaning they'll want to give their partner everything they can.

10. Scorpio (October 23rd - November 21st)

Physical Touch and Acts of Service

It can definitely be hard to get to truly know and understand a Scorpio, as they are very passionate and often over-emotional, causing them to hide how they really feel. However, a Scorpio seeks an intimate and physical relationship — they want to feel close to their partner physically, emotionally, and mentally.

11. Sagittarius (November 22nd - December 21st)

Gift Giving and Physical Touch

A Sagittarius is someone who does not want to feel trapped, as they value their freedom and ambition. They are tough to hold down and they can often be too blunt for their own good. To love a Sagittarius, you must understand and respect their free-spirited personality and lifestyle. They like to have adventure in a relationship, both through life experiences and intimacy. A Sagittarius may be reserved, but that doesn't hold them back from wanting to be physically close to their partner. Rather than being gifted material items, a Sagittarius wants to give and receive an experience in a relationship.

12. Capricorn (December 22nd - January 19th)

Acts of Service and Quality Time

There's no doubt that a Capricorn is a goal-getter. They have clear dreams and ambitions and they will work hard to achieve them, which often means that they place their relationships on the back burner. A Capricorn is all about action, they aren't too concerned with words as they are often very quiet. However, they do want to feel encouraged by their partner. They are loyal to their partner and they feel best when that same loyalty and commitment is returned.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
