As the 2016 election comes to a close and the inauguration has happened, this has left many people devastated. The day after the inauguration millions of people took to the streets to march in support of the power of love. Among these people was myself, my first impression of the march in St. Petersburg Florida was that it was going to turn violent, but my goodness was I wrong. This march actually gave me a lot of hope for the future of the country and how many people love other people and support the rights for all humans.
When I first arrived at the rally, I was definitely a bit nervous due to the fact that it was my first political event and I didn't know what to expect. I saw many people with signs and posters and I thought there attitudes were going to be extreme, but when you talked to them they would look at you and smile like a cheshire cat and be so nice to you. Among the kindness was people spreading the power of love even to the point where there was a girl with a "free hugs" sign and before I gave her that hug I started to tear up. It was really touching to see so many people concerned about other people and how they want to stop the stereotyping that people are objects, where in reality they are human beings no matter what they believe in or do. I can say that this was an amazing feeling I got.
As we marched on, one line that was said will stick with me forever at that is "Love, makes America great" and its the truest saying of them all. When people work together and support each other and never leave their loved one's back the sky is the limit to whatever they want to do. I have seen first hand through my experiences in life that with unconditional love you can change someone's outlook on life and the world, it's hard, but it is possible. Words can't describe how blessed I am that I was able to attend this rally because it proves when the chips are down, we can pick each other up and keep moving forward. Seeing these people love and spread their opinions of love, I can say that it was one of the best events of my entire life.
