10 Reasons Why I Choose to Date Coffee

Oh, how I love thee. You are perfect in every way. Here is an extensive list as to why I choose to openly date you.

1. Your encouragement and commitment

When I am driving home in an awful mood, I know that you will always be there. If I pass Starbucks, there will always be at least ten Dunkin's shortly after. You'd never leave my side, and hey, likewise.

2. Your compassion

I cry. You empathize. I need you during a time of rat-nest hair, sweats, and runny eyeliner? You're on it. You love to lend your lid for me to lean on during times of need, and for that I am eternally grateful.

3. Your strength

Let's be honest. You know where every cup is going, but you push through. Shout out to you, my love.

4. Your optimism

I don't refer to you as my daily pick-me-up without reason. You transform frowns into psychotic, wide-eyed smiles. When my soul is feeling cranky and bitter, you sprinkle your magic dust on me and I take flight.

5. You aren't afraid to cry

Go' head, boo. Be in touch with your feelings. I'll support you no matter how many times I'm told it's just "condensation"... Lean that lid right on back on my shoulder, and tilt that straw this way.

6. You are right 99 percent of the time

But, Babe, I really should be saving my money. You're right, silly me. You're not a bad influence, and I am not brain-washed. Later to the haters that disagree.

7. You are forgiving

I'm sorry that the man at the cafe completely butchered you. I'm sorry that I'm visibly cringing during every sip. I'm sorry. This wasn't meant to happen.

8. Your success

Some would be jealous, but I am proud to call you mine. You are catering to the "white girl" needs across the world, and your success will only grow larger. Congratulations, boo. Let celebrate by throwing back some cold-brews.

9. You are adorable

Sometimes I can't help but stare and absorb your cuteness. Whether you're wearing ceramic, plastic, or a butchered attempt at my name. The sharpie only brings out your straw more, though.

10. You complement me

No, not compliment. You complete me. I go through life with empty, lego-like fists just waiting for you to glide down from the heavens. When my skin is melting off during summer, you're iced and waiting. When the snow drifts down from the sky, you sit, nestled perfectly between my fingers. When leaves trickle down from trees, you are pumpkin-flavored and up for hayrides. When I need a snack, you are in chocolate-covered bean form.

You are my soul mate. You are absolutely everything. I love you. Xx.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
