Love is A Powerful Thing And We Should Be Using It More Often

Show the world and scream it from the mountain tops because love is here.

What is love? Just like that song, we sometimes all wonder what love is. It's this feeling we have but it differs by person and situation. Should we be showing more love? Should we be showing less love? In today's world, do we see love often or do we need more of it? Why do people shy away from love and vow never to let it touch them? Love is love.

There are some people who spend their whole life looking for love and never find it. So is love something that should be sought out for or do we let the universe open our eyes to it. Some may love eating pizza just as much as someone loving their significant other. Some love is love but rather a form of lust. True love can be hard to find and even harder when out looking for it. So what should we do when it comes to love?

Some may say hide it and conceal it because it is too strong for some. Some say to scream it from the mountain tops because love is stronger and can break down any barriers. I say do what you think love is. Show the person you love them in private. Scream "I love you" whenever you get the chance. Love is up to every person and how they want to show it. What we shouldn't do is shame others for loving someone that you might not agree on. Why are we getting in the way of people showing their love to who they want? We are not them, we can not tell them they can not love. We are only in charge of our own life and nobody else's.

People show love in different ways. Sometimes people have been so hurt that love is a sensitive topic and they don't want to be near it. Love has done some amazing things for some people and it has hurt others. We also need to be respectful l of those who have a hard time with love and show them our own other ways to let them know we are there for them.

All the different generations show love differently. There are five different love languages and there are different ways to show love. We should also not judge others on the ways they show love but respect them. No two people are the same, and never will be. So we will need to respect what others might say or do. We are able to show our own love and others the same.

We need to show bigger love in today's world.

Sometimes are so dark and hard but together we can show a light that is filled with love. We need to show others that despite what might be happening and what others might say, there is still love. We can show love. We can be in love. So take your hearts out into the world, show some love, and change the world for the better.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
