Sisters

No matter where life takes us, they will always be there.

Sisters

My sisters are my best friends. Yes, we do have other friends, we don't spend every waking moment together, our personalities are not identical, and we drive each other a little crazy at times, but I wouldn't change the relationship that I have with them for anything.

Growing up, I was closest to my younger sister, since we were only two years apart. Our older sister if four years older than me and six years older than my younger sister, so we didn't become as close as we are until more recently. When we were little, I always wanted to be just like my older sister. In my eyes, she was the most fashionable, the coolest, and the prettiest person I knew. And I would have given anything for the opportunity to hang out with her. My younger sister and I always played together, we always wore matching clothing, we shared a bedroom, and I'd admit, I bossed her around a lot.

Both of my sisters are very dear to my heart, and I love each of them for their many beautiful and unique qualities. Somewhere in between borrowing their clothes and having a confidant, having sisters, and the privilege of sharing life with both of them has brought me far more blessings than I deserve. My sisters are a blessing from God, and I couldn't be more proud and thankful for their lives and the impact that they both have had on me. They both teach me to be a better version of myself, and they do so through their example. They encourage me in my endeavors and seek my encouragement. They bring joy and laughter into my life. They put up with me even when they find me annoying. They inspire me to grow in my relationship with God. They live life and share their lives with me. And they love me.

Now, my older sister is married, I'm in college, and my youngest sister is more than half way done with her high school career. It crazy how we went from being little girls dressing up as if we were characters from Little House on the Prarie, to young adults making plans for our futures and going on adventures.

My sister will forever be my go-to people, and I know that My sisters are my best friends. Kendra and Anna, thank you for all that you do, thank you for being godly women, and thank you for experience and memories to last me a lifetime.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
