I Love Disney World, and Yes I'm a Guy

No matter what age, Disney World is the happiest place on Earth.

A lot of guys get slack for liking Disney, and I’m here to tell you that it’s okay! Yeah, I may be a guy. Yeah, I may be 21… but it doesn’t matter because Disney is fantastic.

Disney is magical

People often say that Disney World can be a magical place. Well, it is. Even driving through the gate to get into the parking lot, you can already feel the sense of excitement building up. I was there a few Christmas’s ago and the feelings were electric. Magic Kingdom is geared towards the younger population, but there is something really special about walking in and seeing Cinderella’s castle. The main Disney movies are from when I was younger, so seeing all of the attractions from those movies brings back a sense of nostalgia from my childhood. Disney really does let you transport back to being a little kid for a while, and I think that everyone could use that. I even had an artist draw a caricature of me, and it is pretty great (see below). The fireworks at night outside of Cinderella's castle are awesome no matter how many times you see them.

Epcot is the coolest place ever… like ever

Come on, who doesn’t love Soarin’? Having the smells blown at you while you feel like you’re flying is great, but that’s not the best part of Epcot. Spaceship Earth is easily one of the coolest rides I have ever been on because it shows how humans have advanced over time and how that will shape the future. Even though I’m older now, I still love the Finding Nemo ride because who doesn’t love that movie? I even have a stuffed animal of Squirt in my apartment. Obviously, when people think of Epcot, they think of going to all of the different countries. I was there a few Christmas’s back as I said earlier, and I went to this French restaurant in Epcot. The people next to us were having a conversation with their waitress about how she got the job. Well, it turns out that both her parents met working in Epcot from France and ended up getting married. How cute is that?! Now she goes to school in Florida and works in the French part of Epcot, because the majority of the workers are from the country themselves. It is pretty cool to walk around the different countries while getting a glimpse of what that culture is like and enjoying an adult beverage (if you are 21).

Disney really is the happiest place on Earth

Regardless of what park you’re at or what attraction you are on, everyone seems to be happy. Except for that one crying baby, but crying babies are everywhere, so that’s more of an outlier. The staff especially is always in a great mood, which really translates over to everyone else at the park. Disney really does bring your family together. I wasn’t sure how I felt about spending Christmas away from home, but spending the holiday at Disney was one of the most fun experiences I have had. Some of my friends have been a part of the College Program that Disney offers and said it was one of the coolest things they have ever done, and that makes me even more excited for when I can apply myself! I’ve only scraped the iceberg on why Disney is the greatest place ever and if you want to talk about it more you’ll have to reach out to me.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
