"An Open Letter to my Boyfriend"

Dear Boyfriend,

Never have I thought that we would be where we are right now. Who knew, because I didn’t know? I didn’t know you would be the one who I fell in love with. I didn’t know I would be holding your hand and enjoying every minute we are together. I didn’t know you would have my heart. I didn’t know you would be the one I didn’t ever want to let go. I didn’t know you would be the one. I didn’t know I could even love that much. I didn’t know someone would love me more than I love myself. I didn’t know my heart could ever beat that fast until I met you. I didn’t know when this day would come. I didn't know after I found you, my life would change forever. I didn't know you would effect me this much. I didn't know you were right in front of me. I didn’t know once my eyes started opening, you would be there. You were always there, but I couldn’t see you because I simply just didn’t know how.

When the timing was right, I knew. I knew you were the one. I knew I couldn’t imagine another day without you. I knew I would always want to hold your hand. I knew I would love you and I knew you would love me. I knew you would have my heart forever. I knew you were the only person that could ever make me feel this way. I knew you would only smile at me like that. I knew you were the reason behind my smile. I knew you would be the one to go to the extreme for me. I knew a couple months ago, you would be it because sometimes, you just have to know. One thing I do know, I want this forever. When talking about forever, it seems so scary and so unreal. But when I talk about forever involving you, it does not seem so bad.

Nothing in this world is so bad if I can do it all with you because with you is my favorite place. With you, everything is clear. With you, I can face the world because I know you will be by my side. With you, I feel safe. With you, I know I can conquer the world with someone as amazing as you are by my side. With you, I know I am loved. With you, I don't have to worry about my insecurities or my self-esteem issues. With you, I am confident about myself. With you, I don't have to worry about being beautiful because you tell me every chance that you get. With you, I know I am loved and will always feel beautiful.

Thank you for being yourself, for loving me and making me feel like the luckiest girl in the world and for always being there! Thank you for everything!

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
