I'd Be Lost Without My Roomies

A letter to my pod-mates.

I'd Be Lost Without My Roomies
Kaitlin Didinger

I want to start by saying that I'm more than excited to be living alongside all of you this year. I wish that I would have had the chance to get to know you all a little bit sooner. You all have such unique and awesome personalities. I'm so proud of everything that you're all doing.

Now, there are twelve of us living in one common space. That means we aren't always going to get along; however, I want you to know that I will never hold anything against you. It would be ridiculous for me to lose a friend because of something so minute as dishes adding up in a drying rack. Even if I'm upset about something, it will blow over, I promise you. I want you all to know that I will always be here if you need someone to talk to, no matter what.

Something you should know about me is that I am sarcastic. I am an ass sometimes and I know it. It's your job to tell me when I'm pissing you off. I won't get mad, I won't be upset, I'd rather know if me telling you to get your bread off the counter for five weeks straight is actually bothering you, because it's not supposed to. I can't emphasize that enough, please tell me if I'm getting to you.

I can't wait to see what this year brings us. It's only been five weeks and I already feel like I've been blessed with so much. I can only hope that we'll continue to enjoy many family movie nights, family dinner nights (if we can ever fit that one into our schedules), service days, and so much more. I'm so excited to see what the rest of this year brings, and I'm so excited to be having this adventure with y'all. You're all beautiful people inside and out, and you shouldn't ever think otherwise.

Thanks for choosing me to room with you, I love you all.

Sincerely,

Kdiddy

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.
