Poetry On Odyssey: Lost In The Colors

"He had beautiful eyes, the kind you get lost in. And I guess I did."

Blue-green eyes that shimmer in the sunlight,

Catch me off guard staring at the colors,

Lost in them for a moment,

Drifting in their current,

Brought back to reality when you call my name,

So sweet it rings off your cherry lips.

Chasing the sunset through the open fields,

Your smile so enticing and bright,

Tackling me in the flowers,

I melt in your arms as the day meets the night,

Laying still in the warmth of your body next to mine,

I look up at you to find something new,

I get lost in those eyes again,

As the moonlight dances in them,

Revealing stories untold.

You look right back at me,

And wonder what I might be thinking.

You pull me closer and stare right back into my eyes,

Lost in the emerald waves of green and touches of gold lit by the moon,

Looking into them as if you could see all my past lives.

The answers you sought become clear,

You nuzzled my face and told me what you saw in my eyes,

How every word painted itself in them,

It would have been overwhelming for any ordinary fool to take,

But you stayed and asked more questions,

It is a love one cannot fake.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
