A lot of the time when you lose someone you love you don’t know how to react. At first it hits you like a ton of bricks, and then it slowly starts to sink in. Sometimes your body will react first as your eyes fill with tears. Some of you may question reality and another part of you may just submit to the pain attacking your heart. When death rips you away from someone you love, you experience one of the worst pains possible; one that is indescribable in its strength and can’t be touched in terms of the way it leaves you feeling lost.
When you lose someone you love there is some sort of closure in believing that they are in heaven, watching over you. You can talk to them and show them what you’re doing during the day – that in itself can be special.
I don’t think it’s possible to ever completely heal after a loss. I think that some people take a piece of our hearts when they leave our lives. Maybe that’s okay though, because it means never forgetting.
There are days that it won’t seem real that they’re gone. There are days when no amount of happiness can outmatch that pain and sadness. There are also times when it feels like everything will be okay, and that’s what you have to hold on to.
